Yearly Recap
—————————–
Hello readers! Time to say goodbye and good riddance to 2016, the year that shook me to the core and gave my country a ding-donging idiot for president (I DIDN’T VOTE FOR HIM).
But it wasn’t all bad.
Here are a few of my favorite moments from the past twelve months…

Modeling amazing vintage clothing for my friend Chuck.

A couple more shots from my 41st birthday. ❤

My Lana, jumping for joy on the day I helped her get her first car.

The day that Chuck and I got a private performance by musician/magician Maxwell Blade in his Hot Springs theater. 🙂

Getting to see these two faves…always best.

A table full of beloved people who came to hear me read when I was the feature poet at Kollective Coffee.
Spooky puss.
Stripping all my clothes off and dropping my Polaroid gear to swim in a Hot Springs waterfall.
The last day of summer, 2016. Wearing my favorite 1970’s dress.
A bohemian in Bohemia. Photo by Chuck Dodson.
No one will ever love anything as much as my Lana loves Mexican food.
A special day in Paris.
Paris, Arkansas. #TheOtherParis
Above two photos: a beautiful weekend at Mount Magazine Lodge.
A sunset that inspired some spider lovin’.
A new laptop. Because people, it was TIME.
Fun at The Ohio Club with Wednesday Night Poetry friends.
Lana and her new boyfriend. He might be the sweetest person I’ve ever met.
The radiant Lana. ❤
Pilgrimage to Oklahoma, in hotels both expensive and cheap.
Reason for the aforementioned trip to Oklahoma: to hear/meet my living literary hero, former Poet Laureate of the United States, Billy Collins…
Score.
Oh, how I love this city. #HotSprings
Muffin keeps an eye on my new typewriter, a vintage Smith Corona Super G.
On my way to a poetry reading in the hat Lana gave me.
Good food and great espresso while on a lovely Christmas trip.
So, there it is…a brief 2016 photo recap.
Do I feel any more settled than I did last year at this time? No, not really.
I try to be optimistic, but I’m terrified. I’m going on blind faith, with not much reason to. I’ve had my trust broken, AGAIN.
But I rise from the ashes, I create, and I proudly face a new day of yet another year.
I know my worth, and I never forget…
“I am Hope — the small, strong animal that stubbornly refuses to die.”
May you all have a magical 2017.
See you soon,
Jenn
